Why we like it

The distillery was founded in 1879 (before lightbulbs were invented). Aberlour is always a solid choice and offers great value for premium, aged Speyside Whiskies. This whisky in question has spent 12 years in American oak and sherry casks before being blended together.

There is buttered fruit toast on the nose, a raisiny, tea-cakey pleasantness that lingers. This dram is a touch on the sweeter side with good levels of sherry spice and a beautiful richness to it. The extended ageing in oak keeps it in check and makes sure the sweetness doesn’t get away from it, excellently balanced.
