Why we like it

The story behind this wine is fantastic; enigmatic Frenchman and arguably one of the worlds heavyweights in terms of making red wine Alain Graillot, was cycling a tandem bicycle through the Atlas Mountains in Morocco when he stumbled upon some Syrah grapes.

Convinced of the potential for producing highly elegant Syrah. Graillot has utilised hand weeding and hand ploughing, no herbicide or fungicide treatments are used either. The grapes were 100% de-stemmed and fermented in closed concrete vats. before being aged for 15 months, first in tanks and then finished in old barriques.

Lots of dark black fruit, think layers of plum and violet with plenty of plush, velvety tannins boxed in with cigar and a hint of vanilla. The alcohol is constrained, surprising when you think the heat in Morocco but it frames and supports the length of the wine nicely.
