Why we like it
The ethereally named Ministry of Clouds have been producing fantastic wines since 2015. They have an 11 hectare vineyard in Mclaren Vale but venture further afield in order to source fruit for their other wines. (get your hands on some of their Picpoul if you ever get the chance.)
This is a Shiraz that will tick a lot of boxes for any red wine lover. Layers of rich, dark fruit, plum, blackberry and a hint of liquorice is supported by judicious use of oak. However the wine doesn’t fall over into “Big Aussie Red” category. There is something more here, a lighter, more elegant wine that is a credit to the winemakers deft skill.
