Why we like it

Patch Wines is a collaboration between Kirilly Gordon and Matt Talbot that came to life after a brief stint working together in the Yarra Valley before Covid struck.  When a patch of vines laden with ripe grapes turned up with no home to go to, Patch wines was born.

100% Malbec fermented in a small fermentation pot for only seven days before being pressed off into a single 225L barrique, racked a few times and bottled about eight months after picking.

The nose on this wine has blossomed since bottling to offer aromas of wild strawberries pomegranate and morello cherries. The palate is soft and welcoming but bright and crisp on the length.  I think a great wine to have with some prosciutto and a cheese board.
