Why we like it

We love this modern Australian example of Nebb! Winemaker Liv (With partner Mij) was inspired by her Italian heritage to make this banging beauty in Margs. Nebbiolo plantings in Margs are very few and far between and this wine represents half of Margaret Rivers Nebbiolo output.

The grapes were cold soaked for 72 hours to extract colour and tannins before being destemmed and gently crushed into open top puncheon barrels for fermentation with gentle hand plunging twice daily.  The wine was then matured on full solids in barrel for ten months before being prepared for bottling. The wine was then further matured in bottle for six months prior to release.

In a glass the wine presents like the colour reflection off a red brick wall. There is high-toned brightness here and fruit vibrancy in spades. The nose is lively and aromatic with pretty floral notes of violet and roses along with some deeper, more ruggedly mineral and dry toned characters of bitter chocolate and tar. The acid is nervy and slightly restrained and well balanced, velvet tannins.
